We, beyond the skins

La Sur Real Film Festival presents “We, Beyond the Skins” a curatorship that invites
us to explore the multiple layers of human existence, from the intersection of
identities, natures and aesthetics. Through this selection of films by Crisálida Cine,
we enter into a journey that addresses animality, the queer body, women and new
ways of being and expressing oneself. The selection also ventures into science
fiction and fantasy, opening windows to alternative realities that challenge our
perceptions and expand narrative boundaries. The works presented reflect Crisálida
Cine’s commitment to formal experimentation and the creation of new aesthetics,
offering a radical and refreshing view of contemporary cinema. Crisálida Cine also
stands out for its ability to create meaningful cinema with limited resources, using
film archives and creativity. Rejecting the imitation of industrial models, Crisálida
develops an authentic voice of its own, demonstrating that it is possible to produce
high-impact works with ingenuity and originality.

About Crisálida
Crisálida Cine is a film studio based in Medellín, Colombia interested in making films
that find in form and language their only way to exist, based on experimentation from
their own materiality and their relationship with other possibilities of expression.
Works that find their own paths around the body, animality, the woman, the queer
body, science fiction and processes of hybridisation and faith in the world.
